DI All Region Athletes

The Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) announced its All-Region teams for the 2007 season on Monday. The awards recognize the outstanding performances of rowers from each of the five Division I regions, organized into first and second-team selections.
University of Southern California, the nation's top-ranked team in the latest US Rowing/CRCA poll, placed five rowers total on the first and second teams from the West Region. Three of the selections were first-team for the Trojans, including the coxswain and one second team selection.
In the Mid-Atlantic Region, the 2006 National Champion Varsity Crew from Princeton University produced four All-Region selections. The Tigers had three first-team selections and one athlete on the second team.
In the Central Region, fifth-ranked Ohio State University placed four rowers on the All-Region first or second teams. The sixth ranked Fighting Irish of Notre Dame also had three first-team selections, including its coxswain and two athletes placed on the second team.
In the South Region, third ranked University of Virginia placed 3 athletes and coxswain on the first team and an additional athlete on the second team.
In the New England Region, second ranked Yale University had four total All-Region selections, including three on the first team. Fourth ranked Brown University placed four athletes, two first team and two second team selections.
